Biophdex is a dextran gel bead cross linked with epichlorohydrin and widely used as a separating medium in gel filtration chromatography. The degree of cross-linking of dextran determines the pore structure, size and selectivity of the gel.
Gels with smaller pore size (g-10, g-15, g-25, g-50) are mainly used for desalination or separation of peptides from other small molecules, while gels with large pore size are used for separation of proteins. Following list provides resins, their specifications and their similarity with analogous products with comparable characteristics.
